NSW: Man survives balcony fall.

A teenage man has survived a balcony fall in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The 19-year-old backpacker from England fell off a fourth-storey balcony in Alfreda
Street .. Coogee .. about 12.20 (AEDT) this morning.

He landed on the third-storey balcony below.

He's been taken to the Prince of Wales hospital in a serious but stable condition and
is expected to undergo surgery for his injuries.

Police are investigating the incident .. and don't believe the fall was due to suspicious
circumstances.

Alcohol may have been a contributor.
