Travel might not be the world's largest industry (though it's surely among the top two or three), but it's certainly the most active. Each week, the thousands of companies that compete for your travel dollars produce many thousands of new products, prices and programs that can affect your next vacation. Here are 10 especially significant developments from just the past few days:

1. For many years, the single largest tour operator to Hawaii has been Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays, operating mainly out of the West Coast. That geographical emphasis has now shifted dramatically, and Pleasant has begun operating nonstop to Honolulu from both Chicago and New York, via so-called ``air cruises'' (special flights that feature ukulele players en route and two movies in the course of the flight).
