FED: ACTU push for wage rise to be heard on Monday
CANBERRA, Feb 27 AAP - The ACTU will step up its latest push for a wage rise for low paid
workers next week when the union body presents its Living Wage submission to the Australian
Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC).
The ACTU will argue for an increase in the Federal Minimum Wage from $373.40 to $400 a week
- an extra $26.60 a week for low paid workers.
ACTU assistant secretary Greg Combet said that the increase was affordable.
