Thinking of sending a few tweets to James Franco? Dont.
Its over. [My account] is still up there. Its coming down, Francosaid Thursday at Hotel Monaco when asked about the buzz he createdon Twitter over the past month. His account was closed by Friday.
I got in too much trouble [on Twitter], he told reporters beforea VIP cocktail reception.
The actor and perpetual student was in town for An Evening WithJames Franco, hosted by 826DC, a nonprofit that helpsunderprivileged youths build skills in language and writing.
He commented on technologys effect on writing (Kids are making amillion videos a day on the Internet), his upcoming role as theWizard of Oz, and what he would do if he were president of theUnited States for a day. (He would make schools place greateremphasis on art programs.)
I didnt get a ton of support from my school in creative subjects,Franco said. As a kid, I would have appreciated that and grown fromit.
The 127 Hours star had dinner with attendees followed by aviewing of the short film The Clerks Tale, written and directed byFranco. The film is based on a poem of the same title by SpencerReece.
To close the evening, two 826DC students interviewed Francoonstage. One asked about Francos hobbies.
I guess I always say ping pong, he said to laughter.
